Frequently Asked Questions

What are Muslins?

Muslins are finely woven, lightweight and breathable cotton. Muslins are used for babies as a swaddle, swaddle blanket, bib, an impromptu changing mat, shoulder burp cloth or as a bath wash cloth.

You can also use muslin cloth around the home as a gentle skin exfoliating cloth.

At KIKI & SEBBY®, our muslins are made of finest materials - our cotton is made of extra-long staple cotton and our bamboo is all natural and made responsibly. When we say "made responsibly", we mean other than being safe and non-toxic, our manufacturing process is also safe to the workers who produce it.

What are the benefits of Bamboo Fibre?

Bamboo fabric is incredibly soft on baby’s sensitive skin. As a swaddle fabric or blanket, the benefits include:

- anti bacterial and anti fungal
- breathable
- hypoallergenic
- thermoregulating
- hypo allergenic

At KIKI & SEBBY®, we use only pure bamboo fibre as our raw material with gentle manufacturing process to retain the core properties of our bamboo fabrics which are safe for babies, the workers and manufacturing environment.

Together with our extra-long staple cotton, our bamboo fabrics are specially engineered to get the softest combination and yet retain sufficient elasticity for swaddling and further uses.

Why is our Bamboo Cotton Muslin Collection different?

Bamboo Cotton Muslin Collection is our luxurious range made of 50% extra-long staple (ELS) cotton and 50% natural bamboo. This carefully chosen combination ensures we get the plush and softness and yet retain the elasticity we need for swaddling purposes.

There are other types of bamboo materials like Bamboo Viscose or Bamboo Rayon, but these are not natural bamboo fibre. With natural bamboo fibre, it will not be suitable for the skin if the specification is said to be using 100% Bamboo because the texture will be too rough. We label our products responsibly and do not mislead our customers.

Why are we using extra-long staple (ELS) cotton given it’s higher cost?

Extra-long staple (ELS) cotton is considered the highest quality cotton with the best lustre and unrivalled softness - hence the most expensive of all cotton produce. We use extra-long staple (ELS) cotton fiber in our Muslin Collection to give it the luxurious softness and durability. Until you feel it with another material, will you know the difference. It provides a higher level of comfort for the baby with our Muslin wrapping over their skin.
